Championship Time

This last week has seen some fantastic paddling. We are looking forward to paddling insome warmer weather as there have been some quite cold mornings and some windy dark evenings.
This week we raced against the Aussie Women's team which was a great experience, in the dark and the wind, Great race girls.

Saturday we were given a good luck breakfast by the Crowne Plaza who have been simply fantastic in providing a room for a pilates class each week and for sponsoring the breakfast .
Our last training session today was in a deceptively cold morning.

We are ready and primed to go after 53 on water sessions - mostly in the dark and weeks of gym and pilates sessions as a team and as individuals, assisted by Serani.

Many thanks to all who have contributed to the Canberra Titans Grand-dragons Women's crew getting to Penang.

Go Titans !!!!

Counting Down

18 Sleeps to Go

Looking Good Titans!!!!!!

This bad weather kicking in now has not been good but it is great to have the use of the gym when we can't get on the water.

With training now 4 days on the water , team session of pilates, and individual weights and cardio work we really need to stay focused and push for the max output and achievements girls.

Don't ever underestimate what you can achieve - it is always bigger than you think.

Power of the team -> power to the Individual -> power to the team. Coach

Eight weeks to D day (departure)

Titans have been training hard as winter has been creeping in. Night training includes paddling as the sun sets over the Brindabella hills to the west of Canberra towards the night lights of the surrounding city. We are privileged to see the city from this perspective.

Fashion is not thought about as we don thermals, ski hats and water proof overgear. Our coach calls us to focus and the hard work begins. We can only imagine the heat and humidity of Penang and dream of success.

Training off water is ongoing thanks to access to the Serani Health Club and Crowne Plaza, Canberra.

The Titans Mother's Day Raffle was a great success and we thank the donors of our prizes for their generosity: Crowne Plaza, Canberra, The Boathouse by the Lake, Pat Pye, Cheap Chips. Photo is of the artist, P Pye, and her work.
The Grandmasters women have committed to hard training for two more months so on we go together.
Paddles up, paddles on
Paddles deep, paddles long
Titans women are the best
Gold and victory is our quest!
Paddles up, paddles on
Titans women we are strong.

Great results

Great results Titans

Fantasitc time was had by all at Jindabyne 10th Feb 2008
With only 16 paddlers we beat teams of full crews and made the women's final.

Our times were good . Over the 250 metre course we did an amend time in the first heat of
1.14 (amended due to a boat crossing lanes in front of us ) , 1.16 in the second heat and a great result in the final against younger crews of 1.13.

This is only the beginning and a terrific indication of where we can go.

Christmas break

Monday 17 December was the last Titans GM (genetically modified??) women's training session for 2007. We'll be training hard again from Monday 7 January, and Robyne has some treats in store for us (paddling and more paddling!!)

Thanks to Jacqui for obtaining sponsorship via ACTEWAGL (www.actewagl.com.au ) to Patti for the Regal Homes sponsorship (www.regalhomes.com.au ) and to everyone for their contributions to the raffle, which raised heaps of money towards our Penang trip. Watch out for the Titans at the WCCC 2008!!

Don't eat and drink too much, but have a lovely Christmas and New Year.
